What is a Lost & Found page?

It's one of Taproo's 12 hosted page types — a finder-facing page that shows up when someone scans your QR code or taps your NFC tag. It's designed to get a lost item back to you in the fewest possible steps: one tap to call, WhatsApp or email you, plus an optional reward and drop-off location. (Travelling? What can I attach a Lost & Found tag to?

Anything you'd hate to lose: luggage, keys, wallets, laptops, cameras, bikes, e-scooters, instrument cases, kit bags, tools, even kids' lunchboxes. We make dedicated luggage tags, NFC keyrings and waterproof stickers in the Taproo shop, or you can use any QR sticker with a hosted Taproo page.

Will the finder need an app or account?

No. The page is a normal mobile-friendly web page. Anyone with a modern phone — Android or iPhone — can scan the QR or tap the NFC chip and see your details and contact buttons instantly.

Can I keep my home address private?

Yes. You choose what's shown. Most people only show first name and one contact method (phone, WhatsApp or email). Home address, reward amount and backup contacts are all optional. Pro and Business plans add password protection and scheduled expiry too.

What about lost pets?

For pets we recommend our sister product Connect My Pet — a dedicated pet-safety registry with microchip linking, lost-pet alerts and a global scanner network. See /pet-id for details. Lost & Found pages are designed for objects rather than animals.

Do I get notified when someone scans my tag?

Every scan is logged in your dashboard with timestamp, approximate location and device. On the Business plan you can also set up webhooks (page.scanned) to trigger an email, SMS or push notification the moment a finder opens the page.
